About

I'm Jordan, an artist, producer, engineer and guitar teacher, born and raised in the High Sierra and now based in North County San Diego.

Some of my earliest memories are sitting on the beat-up bench seat of my dad's old pickup truck, completely lost in whatever music was playing. It felt like magic how every instrument and sound would come together to become something bigger than the sum of its parts. My parents raised me on an eclectic mix of rock, folk, psychedelic jam bands and indie bands, and for as long as I can remember I’ve been hungry to find more music that inspires something in me.

That fascination with music turned into playing every talent show, open mic and gig our small town had to offer. During the COVID lockdowns I studied music production online through Berklee, then started hosting open mics at the café where I worked at the time. This led to starting a band, a few years of gigging all around the Eastern Sierra, and a year at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in England making loads of great friends that I have the privilege of working on great music with.

Throughout the years I have found that the best ideas and results come from working on projects with people that you feel at peace around in a space that is inspiring to be in. That’s the atmosphere that I’ve created here in this cozy bedroom studio

Testimonials

“Recording with Jordan was one of the most comfortable studio experiences I've had. The space feels great, and Jordan is an amazing host and producer.”

Onno LippettSongwriter (Amsterdam)

“Recording with Jordan was the most stellar session I have experienced! He has cultivated a space that allows you to feel completely comfortable in your creativity. While also pushing you into areas musically you might not have fully allowed yourself to explore yet. Do yourself a favor and book a session. You will work with a wonderful musician, Engineer, and most importantly great dude!”

Riley FlowerseedsMusician & Songwriter

“I highly recommend Jordan for any audio engineering or recording project. He showed exceptional skill and professionalism throughout my CD recording, and did a wonderful job capturing the sound of my living room baby grand piano.”

Linda AndreasArtist & Songwriter (CA)

“Jordan did a fantastic job setting up a pop-up studio for recording our group. It was easy to go through a few takes of each song and in a single weekend we got through over 20 songs! Jordan produced some nice clean tracks that we use to promote gigs here and there, share with friends and use as practice tracks. Great value too!”

The studio

DIY Spirit & Creative Freedom.

I'll take a buddy's living room, a single microphone and a laptop over a high-end studio any day. Embracing a philosophy of on the fly, DIY recording set ups and a search for inspiring places has found me recording on top of a bluff, in an ancient castle in the Scottish Highlands, on an island in a High Sierra lake, and many of the living rooms, bedrooms and hotel rooms stayed in along the way. In those uniquely inspiring places or in an environment that you feel comfortable and at ease in I believe your emotion translates into the performance in the purest way possible. With Stellar Sessions I aim to create that environment and atmosphere so that you can capture not just your ideas, but the life and the emotions that you have lived through those ideas.

What a session looks like

  1. Talk it through.

We sit down, listen to the song and come up with the best plan for recording.

  2. Get comfortable.

Put on some tea or coffee, enter the creative state of mind and get ready for tracking and/or writing.

  3. Track.

We record until the song feels right.

  4. Take it home.

Just recording? You leave with your raw files that day. Mixing, mastering or more production? You also get a working mix to listen back to in prep for the next stage.

Good to know

  • You'll get the exact address when you book, and parking is free.
  • It's a home studio in an apartment building, so amps stay at sensible volumes. Want to really turn it up? Ask about recording on location.
  • Bring your song, your lyrics, and your own instrument if you like
  • There's a cat in the house, so if you're allergic to cats, this might not be the room for you.
